For Cesar Ornelas, philanthropy runs in the family.

Cesar Ornelas is already well-known as a successful lawyer in San Antonio, TX. However, he is just as passionate about his philanthropy efforts, as he is about his clients. Cesar and his family founded the non-profit Lucia Ornelas Foundation in 2010, focusing their efforts on providing basic needs to the families of Port Lavaca.

The Lucia Ornelas Foundation is named after Cesar’s grandmother, who was nicknamed the “Angel of Port Luca, Texas” for her unwavering dedication to service work. Lucia continuously donated coats and shoes to children in need, which inspired Cesar to lead his life in the same manner.

Cesar references his low-income upbringing when asked about his charitable work, recalling that he himself grew up with holes in his shoes and the inability to get new shoes when he needed them.

In 2019, Cesar teamed up with the Camino Real Rotary Club and donated 200 pairs of brand-new, name brand sneakers to children at 3 local elementary schools. He was personally on-hand to deliver the shoes at the Lamar, Aoy, and Hart elementary schools in El Paso.

But Cesar didn’t stop there. He is determined to make a difference in every way that he can.

Cesar knows that every little bit counts. That’s why he has continued to give frequently.

In addition to these large-scale contributions to his local community, Cesar has also used his Cesar Ornelas Law Firm to make frequent charitable donations such as:

  • Toy Drives
  • Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaways
  • Community Outreach Programs, including sponsoring local youth baseball and football leagues

Cesar Ornelas is a long standing member of the El Paso and San Antonio rotary clubs.

Most recently, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Cesar was proud to donate hundreds of masks and hand sanitizers to the people of San Antonio. In May of 2020, Ornelas created hundreds of coronavirus safety kits with masks, gloves, and meals that were distributed to Hobbs, Lea, El Paso, and Dona Ana County families on a first-come, first-served basis. He also provided 200 socially distanced egg hunts to children in Kermit, Texas.

The goal is always to create a better world, starting with the local community of San Antonio.

Cesar Ornelas continues to fight for a better world both in and out of the courtroom. He is hopeful that his charitable contributions will inspire children to give back to those less fortunate if and when they can.

Cesar and his team are always on the lookout for new and meaningful ways to give back to their community, oftentimes focusing their efforts on low-income families and raising them up.
